AircraftownedbyVietnamAirlinesandVietjetAir,thetwolargestdomesticcarriers,atHàN?isN?iBàiInternationalAirport.VNA/VNSPhotoHàN?I–TheMinistryofTransport(MoT)hasrecentlyrequestedspecialisedStatemanagementagenciestocloselymonitorairfarepricesandreviewthepricingstructureofticketsofferedbyairlines.Theaimistoensureabalancebetweenconsumerinterestsandairlineprofitability,aswellastopromptlydetectandstrictlyaddressanyviolationsofpricingregulations.MoThasalsotaskedrelevantagenciesandunitswithreportingontheirprogressandsubmittingthesereportstotheCivilAviationAuthorityofVi?tNam(CAAV)byOctober7.CAAVwillcompilethereportsandsubmitthemtotheministrybyOctober21,inpreparationforareporttotheGovernmentandtheNationalAssemblyStandingCommittee.Accordingtotheministry,sincethebeginningof2024,theaveragepriceofeconomy-classairtickets(inclusiveoftaxesandfees)oncertainroutesoperatedbyVietnameseairlineshasincreasedcomparedtothesameperiodin2023.TicketsalesauditsrevealedthatVietnameseairlinesaresellingticketswithinthepriceframeworkfordomesticpassengertransportservicesasstipulatedbyregulations.Theriseinairfarepricesfollowsglobaltrends,largelydrivenbymarketsupply-demandfactors(suchasareductioninthenumberofoperationalaircraftandincreasedtraveldemandduringholidaysandT?t)andfluctuationsinfuelpricesandexchangerates.Giventhecurrentsituationandfutureforecasts,MoTwillcontinuetoimplementsynchronisedandeffectivemeasurestohelpalleviatethepressureonairfareprices.Thesemeasuresaimtostabilisetheairtransportfleettobalancesupplyanddemandacrossdomesticandinternationalroutes,meetingtheairtravelneedsofpassengers.Keysolutionsincludeenablingairlinestoleaseadditionalaircraft,adjustingaircraftoperationalhours,optimisingaircraftutilisationduringtheday,andincreasingnightflights.Thesemeasureshavehelpedcompensateforthecapacityshortagecausedbythereducednumberofoperationalaircraft.Additionally,theministrywillcontinuetostrengthentheimplementationofmeasuresrelatedtopricedeclarations,pricelistings,andthepublicdisclosureofpricinginformation,inaccordancewithlegalregulations.Passengersarealsoencouragedtoplanandbooktheirticketsearlytohavemoreoptionsandaccessbetterprices.Earlier,theministryissuedadocumentrequiringairlinestostrictlycomplywithregulationsondomesticairpassengertransportservicepricing.Airlinesmustdeclarepricesanddisclosepricinginformationandpromotionalprogrammesasrequired.AccordingtoCAAVsreportbasedondatafromVietnamAirlinesandVietjetAir,thetwolargestdomesticcarriers,thecoststructureforasingleflightin2023fortheseairlinesisasfollows:fuelcostsaccountfor37to42percent;equipment,aircraftmaintenanceandrepaircostsmakeup32to41percent;flightservicecosts,includinggroundservicesandflightoperations,constitute6to7percent;andtheremainingcosts,includingdirectlabour,salesexpenses,managementandpassengerservices,accountfor16to19percent.VNSchú y kh?ng ch? b?i nh?ng tác ph?m tuy?t v?i bà ?? l?i mà còn s? tài s?n kh?ng l?.
