AnoverviewoftheworkingsessionbetweenadelegationofMinistryofScienceandTechnologyandtheAustralianDepartmentofIndustry,ScienceandResources.VNA/VNSPhotoCanberra-AdelegationoftheMinistryofScienceandTechnology(MoST)ledbyDeputyMinisterTr?nH?ngTháihaspaidaworkingvisittoAustraliatoboostbilateralcooperationinscience,technologyandinnovation.Duringtheeight-dayvisitendingAugust10,thedelegationheldworkingsessionswiththeAustralianDepartmentofIndustry,ScienceandResources(DoISR)andtheAustralianResearchCouncil(ARC)inCanberra.WorkingwiththeDoISR,ThaidiscussedsomecontentsrelatingtotheStrategyforScience,TechnologyandInnovationDevelopmentuntil2030,promulgatedin2022.HesaidthattheMoSTisimplementingsomeprioritiessuchasperfectinglegalframeworkforscience,technologyandinnovationactivitiesthroughamendingtheLawonScienceandTechnology2013towardsapproachinginternationalstandards,theLawonTechnicalStandardsandRegulations,andtheLawonAtomicEnergy.Toperformthesetaskswell,theministryneedstheinvolvementofdomesticandinternationalorganisationsandexperts,especiallythosefromtheDoISR,henoted.Thehostshareditsexperienceindevelopingandimplementingscienceandtechnologydevelopmentpolicies,priorityareasoftheAustralianGovernmentsuchasrenewableenergy,advancedmanufacturingindustriesandemissionreductiontechnology,aswellaspoliciesrelatedtointellectualpropertyprotectionandattractionofparticipationandfundingfromtheinternationalcommunityforresearchprojects.Bothhostandguestwillcontinuetocoordinateinmanagingandeffectivelyimplementingcollaborationprogrammestoconnecttheinnovationecosystemsofthetwocountries,servingthenationaltargetsofsustainablesocio-economicdevelopmentbasedonscience,technologyandinnovation,aswellasfurtherpromotingcooperationbetweenthetwocountriesinthisfield.AtaworkingsessionwiththeARC,Thaisuggestedthecouncilshareexperienceontheorganisationmodel;sponsoringactivities;inspection,evaluationandacceptanceofscientificandtechnologicalprojects,handlingofprojectassets,valuationofproducts/intellectualpropertyformedfromresearchresults,andcommercialisationoftheseresults.Thetwosidesexchangedandproposedorientationsforcooperationinscience,technologyandinnovationactivitiesinthecomingtime,suchastrainingandexchangingstafforexperts,buildingjointresearchprojects,enhancingresearchfundingcooperation,andusingfundingfromVi?tNam,Australiaandothermultilateralfundingsources.Withintheframeworkoftheworkingtrip,thedelegationvisitedandheldworkingsessionswiththeVietnameseEmbassy,someAustralianuniversitiessuchasMonashUniversity,MelbourneUniversityandRMITUniversity,aswellastheVietnameseAustralianScholarsExpertsAssociation(VASEA)inAustralia.VNS
